This truck is my re-entry into RC vehicles and I have loved it. I have trails by my home and the truck tackles them and most obstacles I throw at it. I even brought it with me on a recent camping trip in my real 4x4 and drove it each day at a new camp site.
I would love to see a light kit offered for it and some better wheels. As you can see I took care of the wheel issue myself!
I am new the FMS scale remote control world, but I value high quality things and I have had so much fun with this truck. I think it is overall really well built, the attention to detail is stellar, and it is loads of fun to drive--makes me feel like a kid!
I gave this a two star review because of the initial response to my inquiries about the servo screw that fell out after two hours of use. I can't find a way to edit that review, so I added another review here. My initial exchanges were customer service were really frustrating--but after writing my review, I received several helpful follow-up emails. So thank you to the FMS support crews for that.
I love my FJ40. Great attention to detail and super fun to drive. (5 Stars for that part).
The screw that connects the Servo to the steering arm fell out after about 2 hours of use and customer service refused to help me because I didn't buy directly from them--that is extremely frustrating! They couldn't even tell me the screw size. (1 star for that). It took me hours to figure it out on my own. If this happens to you--and it seems likely--that screw size is M3-.5X6, available at Home Depot.

I have the FJ and 1:6 MB Scaler and enjoy running them very much. I've added a bit more detailed paint work on window surrounds on the FJ, front wheel wells, new 2.2 wheels and tires, a driver figure, more LEDs and a winch. Overall quality is excellent. The FJ offers great value! Can't wait to see what FMS will offer next.
