Celebrating NMAD with FMS: A Day of Innovation and Community

Introduction

On August 17th, the RC community gathered at the Palm Beach RC Association for National Model Aviation Day (NMAD) at 10875 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida. This year’s NMAD, hosted by PBRCA, was an exceptional event filled with excitement and innovation.

The event co-sponsor, Opa Locka Flying Tigers ClubHome invited FMS Model to participate, and we were thrilled to be a part of it. The day was not just about showcasing our latest products, but also about celebrating the passion and dedication of the RC community.

 

Unveiling the Future: The New 90mm Avanti

One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the official unveiling of our newest model, the 90mm Avanti EDF Jet. Marco Salvino, an RC enthusiast, captured the excitement of the moment perfectly: “FMS did an official unveiling today at NMAD in West Palm Beach, Florida. NEW 90mm Avanti! Looks like it will have a 6s or 8s option like the Zeus.”

The 90mm Avanti is more than just a new model; it’s a testament to FMS’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of RC aviation. With options for both 6s and 8s setups, the Avanti offers flexibility for pilots of all experience levels, whether they prefer powerful speed or more controlled, precise flights. The design is sleek and eye-catching, with a paint scheme that truly stands out. Although the Avanti didn’t take to the skies at NMAD, the crowd was captivated by its presence.

 

A Close-Up Look

Rich from RC Informer, a respected voice in the RC community, joined us at the event and provided a comprehensive unboxing of the pre-production Avanti. His enthusiasm was infectious, and it was clear from the crowd’s reaction that the Avanti had already made a strong impression. “Didn’t get to see it fly, but in person, the scheme really stands out,” Marco noted, highlighting the model’s striking visual appeal.

 

The unveiling also sparked conversations about potential modifications and upgrades. Marco added, “Looks like this is a plane that will very quickly have several mods when it becomes publicly available. From the size of the battery bay, a 12s setup is POSSIBLE, so I’m very excited to preorder one.” At FMS, we are always inspired by the creativity of our community, and we can’t wait to see how pilots will customize their Avantis.
