its such a fun plane and fun to land
A marginal rating as I haven’t flown it yet . Not sure of the handling with the speed brakes and flaps operating in unison without individual control of each.
What a disappointment! This F-86 is very easy to fly, either at high speed or during low speed pass. For flying characteristic only, I'll rate 5*.
But unfortunately after less than 10 flights, both speed brakes servos became erratic (i.e no retract on one side, it looks like servos overheated, and after few seconds the second brake retracted) Now it looks like both air brakes servos gears died, see video
Great! Watched 3 different utube reviews, Great! Follow the directions, easy assembly, course I’ve been RCing 55 years. Follow the rigging, I used the larger control movements with 25% expo on ailerons, elevator and rudder. Left the speed breaks on the flaps. First flight 10 kn crosswind. 50 foot and up we go! After control check no trim needed. 6S 5000 as far forward as it would go. CG dead on. Clean stall dose drop quick very little notice. Keep the speed up. 1/2 throttle good enough for horizontal maneuvering. Vertical is there. Landing no flap easy just keep the nose down with a little power till your foot or 2 off the ground. Flare then close the throttle. Used 1/2 flap with speed brake hold the throttle on to keep speed till ready to touchdown. Flew off grass, no problems , tail wagging in turns in 20k wind higher up. It’s a winner!
Beautiful Jet have not maiden it yet my flaps are. Not correct there is a 3 second difference from left one to the right one and they do not go down in sequence
