Description
FMS is pleased to announce that all 64mm ducted fan aircrafts are being upgraded. Inspired by the superior features of the original model, version two (V2) has improved mechanical and structural features that will enhance air performance and decrease assembly time.
The fiber pipe greatly enhances the wing strength for enhanced flying maneuvers. Improved main wing set and landing gear installation optimizes strength of structure and reduces assembly time.
The latest 64mm ducted fan can achieve more than 800 grams of thrust.
The differences in speeds between the V1 and V2 will be noticeable. If you possess the “need for speed,” accessories such as missiles can be removed to create a faster more streamlined model.

It is such a performance plane with nearly unlimited vertical ability. Than said, is stable at low speeds and relatively easy to fly for experienced pilots. I encountered one significant problem resulting in a 4 star rating. I experienced thermal shutdown of the ESC on hot days or when being hard on the throttle. The result was the ESC going to approximately 1/4 throttle. Enough speed to set up an approach and landing, but none the less a bit scary. I removed a section of the bottom cover and found the the ESC was sitting on top of the elevator servo wires and was completely out of direct air flow. I relocated the servo wires, cut the hole larger under the ESC and pushed it down so that the heat sink would be directly in the airflow. A couple of dabs of hot glue was applied to secure it as mounted. This completely solved the shutdown problem. I would still recommend the airport for experienced pilots.
I have the F16 and F15 in the 64mm also. All of these planes are great flyers as well as the 70mm series. Nice price and fast shipping are a plus too.
While designed for 3s, it's fast and very agile on 4s 2200mhs. However, set your timer for just 2 mins, and land before the timer runs out, or you'll crash due to no power. I know three people that purchased this plane and all three received with a little shipping damage. Nothing that glue won't fix, however, slightly frustrating. The planes price and great flying made up for the shipping damage. Cheers
