Got the plane a couple weeks ago. Assembled it per the instructions. It went together easily and quickly. I had a flying buddy make a few changes after he and I went over the plane. He removed that little pass through control board and he wired everything directly to the receiver, 8 ch safe rx. Because I don’t intend on removing the wings for transport he removed the plug in connectors. I had him install a remote rx. I had him install longer battery wires to the ESC. Now for the fun part. I wanted a clean install of landing lights. Flying buddy is meticulous and removed the navigation lights and relocated the to the side of the fuselage, see picture. Where the navigation lights were, he installed the landing lights. He also installed a couple brighter led strobes; one on top and one on the bottom. Turned out great. The 8 ch safe rx actually has safe plus. One of the features is being able to use the AS3X to act as a nose wheel gyro. This plane tracks straight and true on roll out.

The maiden was all I hoped it would be! Taxied out, takeoff flaps, throttle up slowly adding power and a clean, steady rotation. All it needed was a couple clicks of trim and it was flying level. Tested various rates, and flap settings, even safe. Did a couple rolls and a loop and it was time to land. This plane landed so softly. No bounce. I read various reviews where people didn’t like the soft release of the compressed landing gear. I found no issues with the gear. The gear as delivered did not cause any bounce. I have six landings now and all six were silky smooth! We fly mostly in the evenings and into twilight. The is no problem seeing the plane. The bonus with the landing lights is that you have a visual clue as to the wings being level on final. These lights are even very visible in the bright daylight.

Easy to assemble and flys great. Haven’t found any bad habits…

This Jet is exceptional! Bigger is always better. But in this case, it's Super sized! I really enjoyed the sleek lines and beautiful design of the Avanti. The 70mm flys great. But this 90mm takes the Avanti to a whole new level.
This big girl takes off clean and smooth on rotation. Once airborne, she just cruzes at half throttle. Crank it up and it unleashes the beast inside.
My maiden was super uneventful using the factory recommended CG and battery size. Push it back in the fuse a little and she comes alive! Outstanding performance on just the 6s setup running a 5600. I easily got 4 minutes of flight time with plenty in the tank for a go around. Really efficient power system.I can't express how well FMS did with this one. What an AMAZING NEW RELEASE! Don't miss out if your on the fence getting this one. It's sure to sell out every time! Thank you FMS for another outstanding model!

Outstanding quality and great flying EDF without the TV nozzles, but then it's just another Avanti. You MUST get the TV units. Set it up with a 10 Channel AS3X Plus using Jon's (2-Bros) numbers. Now it's an absolute blast. Balanced at 160mm, it does stuff it shouldn't. Knife Edge, Flat Spins including inverted, High Alpha, Blenders, Head over Heal flips over and over till no more altitude, etc. Built out the cockpit with instruments and 2 pilots and added 3 coats of clear high gloss exterior Spar Urethane for looks and foam protection. Only negative was the sticky grease in the landing gear. Removed it and lubed with white lithium grease and works perfect for grass. Flown on SMC HiV 5900 for over 5 minutes.
